Patañjali states on V. 3 Paspaśāhnika, *priyataddhitā dākṣiṇātyāḥ *while
commenting on the use of the word *luikika *instead of *loke* by Kātyāyana.
It seems to indicate that Patañjali distinguished himself from the
Dākṣiṇātyas ‘Southerners’.
