Salary Package: $59420 to $70106 pa, plus 17% super*

The Faculty of Asian Studies seeks to appoint a Lecturer in the Centre for
Asian Societies and Histories. The position is for a South Asia specialist
within the discipline/s of Religion, Politics and / or Society.

The successful applicant will be expected to assist in the teaching of broad
thematic courses on the societies and histories of the Asian region, as well
as offering more specialised courses on South Asia relating to his/her
particular field/s of expertise. He/she will be able to demonstrate
experience and a commitment to teaching and research using Asian language
material, as well as the ability to supervise students at Honours,
Postgraduate and Research degree levels.

This is a standard continuing appointment, with a probationary period of
three years.
